The Core Product Platform, one of three Enterprise Go-To-Market (GTM) Platforms launching in FY 2022 as part of NEW, is responsible for providing the critical underlying books of record for the retail products TD offers in the marketplace. The Platform will provide ownership and transaction capabilities for most TD customer retail products, including deposits, credit and investment. The capabilities provided by the Platform are essential to our customers and TD, such as product set-up, interest calculation, transaction and trade processing, interfacing with enterprise financial systems, interfacing with customer and colleague access points, and reporting tools.

The Manage Customer Loans Product Group within the Core Platform handles book of records of consumer and corporate loan products (including mortgages); it provides services of account opening, transaction processing, maintenance, and reporting.


About This Role We are looking for someone to provide support and produce detailed system requirements and technical and functional specifications that align with standards and frameworks. You will work in close partnership with our ambitious business and technology partners, project teams and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and manage detailed functional specifications. Meaningful work is fueled by meaningful performance and career development conversations with your manager. Here's some of what you may be asked to perform: CUSTOMER:

  • Develop effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing current state system capabilities and defining technology solutions options / recommendations working closely with key technology partners (e.g. Software Engineers and/or Architects)
  • Provide operational / process-related analysis and support for small-to-medium sized Epics and issues related to the Product Group.
  • Perform and support recurring operational activities such as reporting, reconciliation, product configuration, and audit among others.
  • Define, document, and translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements
  • Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing
  • Support and contribute to pod planning activities by participating in the scoping and estimating of backlog items, risks identification and mitigation measures recommendation, communicating activity status and providing timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems to the Product Owner
  • Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
  • Support collaboration with key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration


Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in the following:
    • Performing work on all aspects of application and systems support.
    • Working in a mainframe environment. Basic to working knowledge of Cobol, IMS, DB2, TSO, CA-7, Endevor, Service Now is an asset but not required.
    • Developing queries using tools such as DB Visualizer to assist in root cause analysis in the application and system.
    • Use of Agile collaboration tools such as Confluence and Jira.
    • Working knowledge of Agile at Scale.
  • High comfort level working with applications, systems and fulfilling tasks that are moderate to highly complex and performed under minimal management supervision.
  • Readiness to be actively involved in resolving client applications/system issues.
  • Adeptness at configuring, upgrading, and administering business applications, in co-ordination with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Strength in performing problem determination including data gathering and analysis.
  • Strength in consulting with other functional areas to provide expertise by acting as a reference on technology, trends and processes related to your own area.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and can work effectively with clients to fulfill support requirements.
  • Willingness to work effectively within a team, helping others to resolve critical service issues.

Join in on what others in TD Technology Solutions are doing: The Operations Pod is responsible for the day-to-day support of products and systems under the Manage Customer Loans Product Group. As an Analyst within the Pod, among other things you will:
  • Perform controlled problem resolution including prioritization and escalation, involving business and technology partners as appropriate.
  • Support the planning, packaging and release of application changes in a timely manner, working with stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide prompt, effective day-to-day support, accurately identify and resolve issues, perform controlled and timely problem resolution all while making client satisfaction a top priority.
  • Deliver effective and defect-free support (application, software and operations), research system issues and opportunities, recommend changes, oversee execution, keep accurate documentation.
  • Design, review, integrate application requirements (e.g. functional, security, integration, performance, quality, operations).
  • Address application, cross-capability and cross-release issues.
  • Gain understanding of technical aspects of project and break-fix development related to the application.
  • Work with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to assume and refine the problem management role (communicator, tracker, escalator, driver, etc.).
  • Monitor system life cycles, ensure both specs and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, re-develop as required.
  • Identify/implement process improvements to enhance revenue, customer experience and reduce costs.
