Job Description

Westport in Cambridge, Ont. designs and manufactures a comprehensive product mix of alternative fuel components for applications in the light and heavy-duty vehicle and industrial segments globally. This product mix includes Hydrogen (H2) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) components such as pressure regulators, tank valves, PRD's, PRV's, shutoff valves and integrated systems for a wide range of applications, including Fuel Cell vehicles.



The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of the IT strategic project portfolio, with a strong focus on Oracle JD Edwards (JDE) solutions for North America and China operations. This role ensures that cost-effective, standardized technology investments are fully aligned with business processes, goals, and measurable outcomes. The analyst will collaborate closely with functional and business unit leadership to drive the successful implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of JDE-enabled financial, manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and long-term growth objectives



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES





Technical Management Responsibilities



Analyze current business processes and recommend improvements leveraging

industry best practices and JDE functionality

to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Provide training and support to personnel as new

JDE functions and processes

are designed, configured, tested, and implemented. Formulate, organize, and oversee enterprise-wide IT strategic projects with a primary focus on establishing

standardized, consistent, and optimized JDE financial and supply chain systems

. Develop models, use cases, process flows, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide business leaders and developers throughout the

JDE technology implementation framework

. Contribute to the creation of business case documentation to support strategic technology initiatives. Collaborate across IT and functional business groups to define requirements, design solutions, configure systems, and implement changes following

SDLC best practices

Support

JDE system users

with data conversion, validation, and the development of

User Acceptance Test (UAT)

scripts. Provide clear direction and communication to cross-functional and cross-regional project team members, including consulting partners, ensuring alignment of

business processes with JDE transactional processes

. Partner with team members on new development efforts, creating supporting documentation, functional specifications, and process guidance. Serve as a

JDE subject matter expert

, providing advice and guidance to business stakeholders on functionality, integrations, and process optimization. Participate in all stages of

JDE implementation testing

--from design through execution, integration, and acceptance--bringing strong business process expertise. Lead the support and ongoing improvement of

JDE applications and functional processes

, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Stay current on

new JDE releases and enhancements

, presenting relevant opportunities to the business for evaluation and adoption. Oversee and supervise activities of external service providers within the

solutions development lifecycle

. Ensure compliance with

SOX IT General Controls (ITGC)

framework and enterprise risk management guideline

POSITON REQUIREMENTS



Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Must have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle JD Edwards (JDE)

applications, including functionality, business process flows, and integrations across supported modules such as

Financials, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Supply Chain.

5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a technical, systems, or business analyst supporting manufacturing and distribution stakeholders. Strong expertise in

JDE manufacturing and distribution applications,

with a detailed understanding of system features, functionality, and cross-module/application integrations. Experience with

SOX IT General Controls (ITGC) framework.

Familiarity with

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

methodologies and best practices. Proven ability to identify and deliver

continuous improvement opportunities

for cost-effective IT system and process investments. Experience in vendor management and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge of

supply chain processes

, including demand planning, production planning, and inventory management. Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and an understanding of business/technology impact. Highly adaptable to changing priorities while managing strict timelines. Strong skills in

change management, negotiation, and facilitation

. Organized, customer-focused, and capable of working independently or within a team. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to technical staff, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
