Story Behind the Need:

• Business Group: Global Retail Data- forms part of Customer Insights & Analytics (CIDA) at client and is responsible for delivering best-in-class enabling cloud strategy and Data Management practices, standards, and policies across the Bank.
• Project: Contributes to the overall success of the Data Office in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team\xe2\x80\x99s business strategies and objectives. The main function of the Senior Technical Business Analyst role is to support investigation, development, testing and operationalization of data solutions related to strategic goals of the Data Office.

Typical Day in Role:

• Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
• Performs data profiling, analyzes and communicates results in support of data quality processes
• Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
• Participates in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions.
• Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Assesses, researches, analyzes, and documents project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements

Must haves:

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst
• Data Governance and data management experience \xe2\x80\x93 Understanding of data concepts (metadata, data mapping, data quality, data modeling, data governance)
• Stakeholder/Project management experience \xe2\x80\x93 Strong experience of business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows
• Experience working with data management tools \xe2\x80\x93 Collibra
• Experience in agile project methodology and artifacts, on software/application development lifecycle in an agile fashion

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of programming language
• Previous FI experience
• Cloud knowledge
• Experience with enterprise data lakes and data warehouses

Soft Skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences
• Detail-oriented and skilled in summarizing and provides insights from complicated processes
• Self-motivated to solve problems and able to work collaboratively with other team members

Education and Certifications:

• Strong technical education background, majoring in fields that require a high degree of analytical skills, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics or related field
