Reporting to the Manager of Materials Management, the student will provide general support to the broader Supply Chain group. This involves supporting SAP, Ariba, use of excel and other Microsoft tools. The student will obtain valuable work experience in areas of Supply Chain and assist with local site visits and contract evaluations. Have an opportunity to participate in analytical work that will assist with change and efficiency of work and support to the local Region. In addition, this role will assist with Contract Requests for Proposal (RFP) and other contract formation duties as they arise, such as bid list preparation, RFP document and evaluation criteria development.

Responsibilities

Provide Expediting activities for outstanding materials

Attend offsite meetings

Attend warehouse review meetings to various local locations

Assist with contract negotiations and document preparation

Support buying activities

Attend supplier meetings related to material availability and delivery

Attend Contractor review and performance meetings

Provide general support to the SCM group

Liaise with other parts of the region concerning buying issues and tracking

Qualifications

Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

Available to begin work in January, 2024

Competencies/ Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing team environment

Attention to detail and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and meet strict and occasionally moving deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and team skills.

Excel skills an asset.

Education

Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of the intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
