JOB PURPOSE
The Business Services Leader - Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading EQUS' Sales & Marketing Team to drive brand visibility, community engagement, and revenue growth. This role provides strategic direction and oversight across communications, events, and business development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities that enhance member growth and strengthen EQUS' presence across rural Alberta.
DUTIES
Leadership
Lead our Sales & Marketing Team by providing direction to the Communications Specialist, Event Specialist, and Business Development Specialists.
Leverage the Sales & Marketing Team to identify and execute opportunities for brand exposure, community engagement, and sales opportunities, leveraging strengths throughout the process.
Target programs and initiatives to a variety of audiences, including Government, Staff, Members, and potential members.
Monthly reporting on growth and brand exposure to the VP - Business Services, CEO, and Board of Directors.
Collaboration with our Strategic Leadership Team for strategy alignment with organizational goals.
Business Development
Lead our team of Business Development Representatives in setting and attaining EQUS' annual revenue targets
Identify and support opportunities for Member growth in the co-operative
Periodic travel throughout our rural Alberta Service Area to support our growth initiatives, where required.
Marketing & Communications
Oversight and collaboration with EQUS' marketing agency to develop and maintain branding, marketing strategies, and campaigns in alignment with strategic priorities identified by the EQUS Board of Directors and CEO.
Collaboration with the Communications Specialist in developing messaging for advertising campaigns and social media content.
Coordinate video testimonial opportunities to build and maintain the EQUS' video library
Set key performance indicators for campaigns and budgets for advertising
Community Relations
Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of community events and sponsorships.
Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for internal and external community programs and events.
Develop and implement community relations strategy with Events Specialist that is aligned with organizational goals.

This position reports to the Vice President - Business Services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Exceptional communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to think creatively
Exceptional time management skills and ability to work well under pressure and tight timelines
Proven track record developing and maintaining effective business relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in business or marketing
A minimum of five years' experience in a marketing or sales role
A minimum of five years of management or leadership experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience in WordPress CMS and/or familiarity with InDesign, CRM or ERP software systems
Experience in organizing and executing events
