What is the opportunity?



Personal Financing Products (PFP)'s Business Risk and Regulatory Initiatives team is seeking a Director to lead business risk efforts within PFP. The Business Risk team supports first line risk management and operational risk activities within the line of business working across: Home Equity Financing, Automotive Finance, and Personal Lending. As a Business Risk leader within the team you will be responsible for an effective risk and controls environment, proactive risk identification, and collaborating with our product teams and business risk partners within Ops Risk and the second line.


We are looking for a highly collaborative, curious, leader with a strong risk mindset and understanding of lending businesses from a product and/or operational perspective.

What will you do?



Lead business risk initiatives within PFP Work closely with the PFP product lines of business Support transformational initiatives as a business risk advisor and SME Establish and enhance the risk and controls register Co-lead identification of transformation program level risks (e.g. PAR) & support mitigation development Lead the risk and controls forum for the business Be a strategic risk advisor to the business and Ensure comprehensive risk identification, evaluation, mitigation, and monitoring across all risk types for the business unit in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Framework, including:

+ risk identification, assessment, and mitigation,
+ risk control design testing and monitoring,
+ risk issue resolution, and communication.
Coach and mentor team members and support their development

What do you need to succeed?



Must have:



Previous operational or product experience within Lending / Credit Strong grasp of Operational Risk Management and extensive experience in the design and evaluation of internal controls Effective at working with senior management and product teams to understand needs and requirements Strong impact & influence abilities including sound insight and judgment into business; solid ability to employ creative problem-solving skills Understanding of risk management including key trends, challenges, and best practices Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks, proposing solutions and/or exercising sound and balanced judgement
