Department summary

The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is a key partner in the delivery of change throughout IGM Financial. We deliver value by providing services related to Project/Program Management and Delivery, Data Analytics and Reporting, Portfolio Management and Intake Management.

Our directive is to deliver seamless execution of change initiatives into the IGM organization through the adoption of an end-to-end project/program management methodology and governance. The team is also accountable for actively managing the portfolio of initiatives (existing and new) that draw upon delivery resources across the COO organization with a focus on raising key indicators relative to human and financial resource capacity. The team works in close partnership with other IGM shared services, IGM Corporate Operations division leaders and business leaders to deliver sustainable change and information to ensure optimization of limited resources to achieve our strategic objectives.

Position summary

Reporting to the VP, EPMO, the Business Manager will be responsible for the running of the business related to EPMO and Corporate Technology and Application Business Architecture (CTABA) department business objectives and goals. In this role, you will be accountable for establishing, overseeing and facilitating many critical processes focused on strengthening and advancing operational efficiency and effectiveness relative to: Financials and Workforce (total workforce of approximately 180 resources), Human Resources processes, Real Estate, Communications and the EPMO & CTABA Strategy and Roadmap in support of the leadership team. You will be required to actively partner with the leaders and our partners in Finance, Human Resources and Real Estate to ensure our team\xe2\x80\x99s needs are identified, understood and actions are initiated and completed such that our organization is progressing forward and able to meet its strategic vision. As a strategic business partner, you will expertly work with EPMO & CTABA leaders and key partners to assess demand and create plans that will help evolve and realize our strategic vision.

Key accountabilities

  • Working in partnership with the VP, EPMO, SVP, CTABA and their leaders, assist in the development, planning, execution and monitoring of initiatives in support of our financial, people and strategic objectives as we progress towards our strategic vision
  • Establishes and implements key processes to ensure quality plans are developed and supervised and desired outcomes achieved
  • Produces consolidated reporting focused on raising insights and actions towards key issues and opportunities, including resource management
  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of contingent workers and term-based employees (eg Co-op students), working with departmental leaders, Procurement and external vendors to streamline processes
  • Central contact and business partner for our support organizations including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Real Estate providing insight and data relative to EPMO and CTABA
  • Partners with support organizations to identify EPMO needs and help develop new processes that will support the realization of the EPMO vision
  • Prepare presentation materials in support of EPMO and CTABA teams, executives and/or Operating Committee/Board specific. This includes assisting with the coordination of departmental townhalls and other events
  • Leads initiatives in support of elevating the EPMO and CTABA teams
  • Build and maintain a strong network throughout EPMO and IGM
  • Stay ahead of key developments in the industry and among competitors to elevate the EPMO team
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in progressively senior position, preferably with a minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience within a Project Management function
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of cross functional team
  • Ability to influence partners through the demonstration of clear objectives, data and approach
  • Proven ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with business leaders, peers and team members; work transparently and cooperatively with cross-functional teams, effectively engaging all pertinent stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Challenges the status quo and exhibits an attitude of creativity, determination and an energetic drive to succeed. Highly motivated, an independent thinker and has a proven track record of setting and meeting aggressive goals and actions plans, both as an individual and with a team
  • Ability to supervise multiple demands and excel in a complex and evolving organization. Demonstrates appropriate flexibility in all situations and will be comfortable with ambiguity, while shifting from macro to micro issues, from shaping the strategy agenda through to the day-to-day

  • Advanced communication, negotiation, influencing and facilitation skills; ability to create \xe2\x80\x98win-win\xe2\x80\x99 outcomes and to obtain support of executive-level management and elicit cooperation and consensus across the business in the implementation of programs/processes; demonstrated ability to collaborate as well as lead across a matrix organization to complete strategies, influence change and deliver results
  • Known to be customer centric, both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft suite, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
  • BA in relevant field
