Business Intelligence Developer

As Business Intelligence Developer on the Data and Analytics team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll closely work with both technical and business stakeholders at Best Buy, to create analytics products that help marketing teams develop meaningful and respectful relationships with our customers through different stages of the shopping journey.

We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative and social purposes.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting and data analysis requirements, formulating business requirements for BI tools and translating them to technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team on developing and maintenance of analytics products and solutions.
  • Design, develop, optimize, and improve analytic products, data models, dashboards, reports, and analytic solutions using business intelligence tools. Cater for both regular and big data applications.
  • Create and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform data wrangling, data profiling, cleansing and validation to ensure data quality.
  • Develop, monitor, and troubleshoot data integration and data product processes ensuring quality, performance, and accuracy.
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • 5+ years of BI development, data engineering or software engineering within data and analytics.
  • Development and Implementation of departmental and enterprise analytics products.
  • Advanced Proficiency with the following programming languages and tools:
  • Python (data analytics use cases, data pipelining, reporting, API),
  • SQL and database management (e.g., work with DB objects, creating tables, views, stored procedures, functions, optimization),
  • Visualization tools and Languages (e.g., Power BI, Looker, DAX, etc.).
  • Proficiency with data integration, ETL, Pipeline Automation, Data Wrangling and Exploratory Data Analysis.
  • Proficiency in developing, design and analysis of data architecture, data models, BI interfaces, and Data Visualizations.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Annual salary: $96,565.00 - $101,648.00
