Position Summary

The Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship and Joint Support Ship In-Service Support (AJISS) Business Integration Lead will be responsible for developing the AJISS capability model which will define the enterprise business architecture of the AJISS organization to illustrate the overarching needs of the ISS business and the technology required to meet those needs.

The Business Integration Lead will work with a skilled and experienced Integrated Data Environment team to develop an integrated capability roadmap for both business and IDE capabilities. The Business Integration Lead will manage a small team that will work across all departments to map processes and value streams. The Business Integration Lead will lead an interdepartmental team in assessing Value Engineering Change Proposals. The Business Integration Lead will work with the Change Manager and the Data/Configuration Manager to implement the Data Management Plan during the transformation of the business caused by progressing from a time and materials program to a performance contract enabled by the roll-out of an Integrated Data Environment, over the next three years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying data custodians and data stewards and establishing a training program with the DM/CM team for these in their secondary roles;
  • Responsible for working with the AJISS business to develop the business capability model and capability roadmap as part of the AJISS Transition Plan. The business capability model and roadmap will assess and incorporate the technology capability requirements
  • Responsible for creating a baseline of current AJISS capabilities and their maturity that includes notions of people, process and technology,
  • Work with IDE and DM/CM and other lines of business to establish plans, processes and standard operating procedures for the management of data;
  • Liaison between AJISS Operational/Business areas and AJISS IDE;
  • Review of IDE requirements documents to ensure requirements capture operational needs;
  • Review unique business requirement to ensure the technology \xe2\x80\x9cunder the hood\xe2\x80\x9d attributes can easily be integrated into the AJISS Business Capability Model;
  • Attend all AJISS Business Plan reviews and consider the integration piece of individual plans within the business;
  • Represents the AJISS Operational team and/or coordinates participation in IDE SW requirements and process meetings/workshops and training needs analyses;
  • Contributes to the generation and evaluation of IDE Options Analyses;
  • Working with the Change Manager to develop and execute project plans to introduce new capabilities into the business;
  • Assist and promote the integration of technical data with the configuration management system across a number of applications, including: Maximo; SAP; Omega PS; SharePoint;
  • Work with the AJISS PMO and the AJISS IDE team to compile the estimate for the AJISS capability roadmap (bringing the business capability and IDE capability roadmap together) as part of the Project Annual Operating Planning (PAOP) process;
  • Monthly, report on the implementation of the AJISS capability roadmap and the maturation of the AJISS enterprise;
  • Work with all departments to create an environment and culture that fosters innovation and continual improvement and generates successful Value Engineering Change Proposals. Responsible for managing the hand- off of approved VECPs for implementation?
  • Liaise with the customer to ensure alignment of AJISS Enterprise objectives;
  • Promote relational contracting across the AJISS Enterprise;
  • Provide oversight and direction as the leader of the Business Integration Team, an interdepartmental team, in accordance with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures;
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff;
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ an appropriate number of employees.
Key Requirements

Skills and Abilities:
  • Possess a minimum of two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in capability modelling of business architecture, and/or a business analyst role;
  • Project Management experience;
  • Experience working with managing data in 3D models;
  • Experience in creating and managing high performing teams;
  • Experience with managing innovation with practices such as Design Thinking;
  • Proven problem solving and analytic skills with a track record of successful outcomes;
  • Recognized for ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization and externally with customers;
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and willing to learn;
  • Capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service;
  • Able to manage and deliver work to challenging deadlines;
  • Must have experience working with and managing large, complex technical data packages;
  • Experience in the management of the security of classified data and intellectual property records;
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in change management at the enterprise level;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite;
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language, written and verbal
Education:
  • Possess a minimum of 1-year post-secondary diploma in configuration or information management or systems engineering or a program that involves integration as a key element offered by a recognized technical institute. Must possess a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience within the last 8 years in an integration role that involved reviewing individual business needs, plans and processes and ensured the viability/long term effectiveness of the business solution as a whole.
Key Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with PLM software is desirable;
  • Experience working in an Integrated Data Environment (IDE) is desirable;
  • Experience working as a Product Owner of a business solution is an asset
  • Experience developing both business and technology strategies is an asset;
  • Enterprise Architecture experience is desirable;
  • Previous experience in working with applications in relation to Data Management, Data Consistency, and Configuration Management in a CM system that is compliant to EIA-649B/ANSI-649B is an asset;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferable, but not mandatory;
  • Experience working with a military (DND is preferable) on mission critical in-service support contacts (does not have to be naval experience) is an asset;
  • Experience working with a variety of military platforms is an asset;
  • French language (Desirable);
