About the Role
Reporting to the Project Business Excellence Lead, the purpose of the Project Business Excellence Advisor role is to drive performance focus and issue resolution to frontline, through execution strategies focused on area, scope, or module; Increase meeting effectiveness while removing preparatory redundant meetings to free up time for project execution; Enhance timeliness of data flow to support real-time performance dialogues; Develop a challenger mindset to identify the risks and opportunities in contractor plans and the skills to directly test with critical stakeholders; support strategies to develop a high-performing org to deliver the project. Support/manage as necessary the interfaces with key Stakeholders, such as Joint Venture Partners, local Authorities, service providers, and contractors with the target of progressing critical activities. Ensuring that projects are developed in line with the agreed LNG Canada schedule and plan. This is a two year role, where you would be part of the Project team in Kitimat, BC. The LNG Canada Temporary relocation policy would apply to the successful candidate if they are not residing in the Terrace/Kitimat area. To succeed with us, we need your enthusiasm to:

You will use your expertise to:
  • Lead the role of Interface Management Focal zippering with EPC Contractor counterpart on addressing third-party interfaces to the benefit of the project and in a collaborative manner.
  • Act as the conduit where ACMs would go through to provide updates to the Monthly Report as it relates to Construction Activities. Will also act as the focal to provide the Assurance and Reporting Lead bi-weekly input for JVP engagements.
  • Prepare, align, and deliver the construction portion of the playbook.
  • Manage the sequence of events that enable a complete playbook monthly.
  • Act as the Risk Management Focal point at site enabling ACM to manage risks through EasyRisk.
  • Partner to diagnose and develop plans to address business excellence/continuous improvement gaps, leading specific activities from diagnosis to sustaining improvements. Support leaders to diagnose and develop capabilities required to individuals and teams.
  • Provide direct support to Site Construction Managers and Project Business Excellence Lead.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership and promotion of collaborative behaviours.
  • Drive discipline and behaviour on cost and the management system including metrics on completion statistics and reporting including an opportunity funnel.

To be successful, you will have:
  • Engineering Degree will be a distinct advantage
  • 7+ years’ experience in Construction, Manufacturing, or Energy industries preferred.
  • Experience in supporting various disciplines including project controls, maintenance, operations, and EPC project teams.
  • Experienced at generating project business justifications through VIR, NPV and RAM rankings
  • Experienced with production and maintenance planning to plan and deliver a quality start-up in a brownfield setting, managing the Operations Readiness, Completions and C&SU aspects of the Project to Asset Transition phase.
  • Credible professional with proven track record in delivery
  • Externally focused with extensive experience in stakeholder management with a demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Culturally sensitive and ability to build good relationships
  • Significant negotiation skills
  • Strong personal drive for delivery
  • Resilience and perseverance whilst dealing with uncertain timelines
  • Discrete and respect for the highest level of confidentiality are a prerequisite.
  • Project portfolio Management – including project definition, detailed design, execution to project close-out phases.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) exposure/experience
  • Budget Management (OPEX/CAPEX)
  • Contract management (contractor holder/contract owner responsibilities)

  • LNGC site experience and Kitimat site familiarization will be a distinct advantage. The role will allow personal growth and, in close working environments, provide opportunities to coach the growth of colleagues.
This role requires that you:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit) (External)
  • This role is in Kitimat. The LNG Canada Special Project temporary relocation policy will apply, that include family, pet friendly accommodations.
  • Work CSU schedule of 50hrs /week (10 hours per day)
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Broaden your professional capabilities through varied, challenging work and opportunities to learn from and with others. Develop basic understanding of construction activities (piping, underground piping, concrete and module installation) in a relatively tight timeline.
  • Strong interface required with multiple stakeholders (internal/external) in a matrix organization.
  • Lead and deliver in a complex megaproject delivery environment, spanning multiple geographies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of a non-operated joint venture and how it supports the delivery of LNGC’s business strategy developing business intimacy through working with business and execution partner teams.
  • This role provides a unique opportunity/exposure to senior leadership within LNGC.
