Role at a Glance

The Business Development Technical Specialist will assist in advancing the technical capabilities of our Business Development function under the guidance of the Vice President, Sales & New Markets.

The ultimate goal of this role is to drive sales through enabling our team to connect with our clients and to support data driven decision making through effective reporting. It provides an excellent opportunity for gaining experience at the intersection of technology, business development, and strategy.

This role will assist in developing and maintaining automated reporting tools through Power BI and our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software platform, supporting business leaders with actionable insights through report development and aiding in the adoption and strategic use of the CRM platform and other technologies.

What You Will Do

CRM Strategy & Reporting

Design and implement automated reporting dashboards and tools within the CRM and/or Power BI to support business development and sales performance tracking. Partner with business unit leaders to identify reporting needs and translate them into actionable CRM tools and analytics. Monitor data quality and consistency across the CRM to ensure reliable reporting and insights.

CRM Adoption & Training

Assist in training and onboarding efforts for business development staff and broader business units on CRM usage and best practices. Serve as a subject matter expert and internal advocate for CRM adoption, usage, and continuous improvement. Identify areas for user experience improvement and coordinate system enhancements with internal or external CRM support teams.

Strategic Enablement

Collect the right data & report on the right data. This will be achieved through collaboration with the Business leaders to align CRM tools and reporting with strategic goals and sales initiatives. Support leadership in data-driven decision-making by assisting in the development of automated reporting from CRM data.

What You Bring to the Table

A post-secondary degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools or programming skills (e.g., SQL, Python, or similar) are an asset for data manipulation and integration Experienced working with a CRM system and/or Power BI would be an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of Adobe would be useful Highly innovative with an attention to detail
