Job Description

Construx Building Products is a supplier of structural building products, value-added components, and services to the professional market for new residential, commercial, agricultural construction and repair and remodeling. Our focus is on providing unparalleled service to both large and small customers. This position is key in identifying and developing strategic business relationships with group purchasing organizations within the target market segments in collaboration with the Branch Manager.




Reporting to the Branch Manager this position is critical to developing and maintaining new business opportunities through contacting and building relationships with potential customers. Success in this role requires developing leads from marketing / sales initiatives and managing client project delivery. Strong organizational and follow-up skills are key, and a competitive, friendly, relationship-driven personality will thrive in our business.

Key Responsibilities



Business Development



Identify and research potential new markets, partnerships, and business opportunities. Develop strategies to attract new clients and expand the customer base. Initiate and build relationships with prospective partners, clients, and leads. Conduct competitor and market analysis to inform strategic decisions. Collaborate with management to craft outreach campaigns and promotional strategies. Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to generate leads. Maintain a pipeline of prospective opportunities. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our product's technical scope, market applications, and services to support business development efforts. Establish and sustain close contact with general contractors, architects, owners, and developers to influence decision-making and drive product adoption. Develop and follow up on strategic opportunities in Saskatoon and surrounding area, as well as other areas throughout Western Canada.

Sales Representative Tasks



Actively reach out to prospects via calls, emails, and social media to pitch products / services. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations tailored to the client's needs. Close deals and meet/exceed monthly sales targets. Handle objections and provide solutions in real-time to move deals forward. Maintain ongoing relationships with current clients for upsell and renewal opportunities. Collaborate with Operations Team to prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and contracts. Follow up with leads through each stage of the sales funnel.

Additional Duties



Collaborate with management team to ensure client satisfaction. Provide feedback from clients and prospects to help improve product / service offerings. Maintain accurate and updated customer and sales records. Report on sales performance and business development efforts regularly to leadership. Stay up to date on industry trends, market shifts, and competitor activity.

Required Qualifications



Industry Experience



Extensive experience within the construction industry, particularly working with general contractors and architects in the Western Canadian market. Proven track record in sales, including relationship management, achieving targets, and successfully navigating complex sales cycles with contractors, architects, and developers.

Technical and Process Skills



Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage in specification discussions and technical problem-solving. Excellent process management skills with attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Communication and Relationship Building



Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey technical and business information to diverse audiences. Professional demeanor with a focus on building long-term relationships and facilitating strategic introductions. Natural ability to build and maintain relationships.

Travel



Willingness to travel as required to engage with clients and stakeholders throughout Western Canada.
