White Ash Group has been engaged by a media and events company that is dedicated to progressing and destigmatizing the cannabis industry to find their next 2 Business Development Representatives.

About the Job:

The Business Development Representatives will be responsible for phoning, emailing and contacting cannabis companies across Canada and sell them ad space and sponsorship opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify Prospects: Conduct market research and identify potential companies within the cannabis industry that align with the target audience and values.
  • Outreach and Networking: Proactively reach out to potential clients through phone calls, emails, and networking events to introduce sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers, marketing managers, and other relevant stakeholders in the cannabis industry. Understand their needs and pain points to tailor compelling sales pitches.
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver persuasive and professional sales presentations to showcase the value of sponsoring events and advertising. Highlight the unique benefits and audience reach of the platform.
  • Negotiation: Skillfully negotiate terms, pricing, and packages to ensure mutually beneficial agreements with clients.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a well-organized sales pipeline using CRM software, track leads, follow up on potential clients, and keep accurate records of all interactions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing and editorial teams to develop innovative sponsorship packages and ad campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with trends and developments in the cannabis industry, as well as the competitive landscape, to identify new opportunities and remain a knowledgeable resource for clients.
  • Sales Goals: Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the cannabis industry or a similar niche.

\xc2\xb7 Passion for Cannabis: Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of the cannabis industry, including an understanding of current trends, regulations, and market dynamics.

\xc2\xb7 Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage prospects, build rapport, and confidently present sales pitches.

\xc2\xb7 Results-Driven: Proven track record of achieving and surpassing sales targets in previous roles.

\xc2\xb7 Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple leads and opportunities simultaneously.

\xc2\xb7 Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, adapting strategies as needed to achieve success.

\xc2\xb7 Team Player: A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, willing to work alongside different departments to drive overall company growth.

\xc2\xb7 Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other sales tools.

\xc2\xb7 Availability: Willingness to travel occasionally for industry events (if required).
