About the role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven bilingual (English/French) Business Development Representative (BDR) to help drive new customer acquisition. As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients, responsible for building relationships, identifying opportunities, and qualifying leads that align with our market-leading solutions. The long-term career path will lead to becoming a Sales Director or Account Manager within Element.
What you'll doProactively identify and engage potential customers through outbound outreach (calls, emails, social media, etc.) and inbound lead qualification.
Conduct discovery calls to understand fleet needs, pain points, and decision-making processes.
Schedule product demos and consultations for the sales team with qualified leads.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align messaging with customer segments and industry trends.
Maintain and manage accurate data and outreach activity in the CRM system.
Stay current on industry regulations, competitive offerings, and evolving customer needs across both U.S. and Canadian markets.
Consistently meet or exceed KPIs related to lead generation, conversion, and pipeline contribution.
Basic QualificationsBilingual in English and French is required
1-3 years relevant experience preferred
Fleet experience a plus.
Prior experience with business and/or persuasive writing.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and details simultaneously in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, environment.
Written Communication: Expresses ideas and opinions clearly in properly structured, well-organized, and grammatically correct documents. Utilizes language and terminology that the reader will understand.
Verbal Communication: Understands audience needs; reads reactions and adjusts appropriately. Articulate; conveys information in a clear, concise, and confident manner.

Solicits, considers and appropriately incorporates perspectives from others. Proactively communicates and engages all critical constituents. Always follows through on commitments.
Critical Thinking: obtains and effectively analyzes data, identifies trend/issues, solicits input, looks at all perspectives, reaches logical decisions or recommendations and acts quickly to implement solutions.
Collaboration and Partnering: Leads by example to create an environment of collaboration; encourages cooperation and teamwork and models professional behaviors. Collaborates with others across the organization to provide the best solutions. Develops and maintains a network of internal resources across functions.
Proficiency in various MS Office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred QualificationsEducation: College/University degree preferred
Location: Mississauga. Our Mississauga office will move to 1 Adelaide in Toronto in September 2026
The base salary range for this position is $60,000-$71,500 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
