No matter your role, you will be part of a team that is building the future of agriculture - leading breakthroughs in the innovation and application of science and technology that will better the lives of people all over the world and fuel the progress of humankind.Come join our team in the role of Business Development Manager, Optimizing Canola Composition!Under the direction of the North America Commercial Leader for Oils & Grains, the Business Development Manager - Optimizing Canola Composition is responsible for validating the value proposition, and developing the commercialization strategies, for the transformational high protein, low fibre canola project.ProPound TM Project Management - In support of a second Protein Industries Canada (PIC), Global Innovation Supercluster project, Corteva is leading a consortium looking to transform the canola industry by creating and commercializing high protein, low fibre canola in high yielding hybrids. These canola hybrids must have strong canola oil levels along with the agronomic attributes that grower\'s demand including herbicide, pod shatter and disease tolerances. Canola hybrids, with this protein and fibre profile, will elevate the value of canola for downstream feed markets including swine, poultry, turkey, and aquaculture.What You\'ll Do:

  • Become the Corteva subject matter expert on North American and global plant protein markets, demand, opportunities, trends, and the outlook for plant proteins for feed and food end-use markets.
  • Validating the canola seed protein and fibre breeding targets by working with external collaborators.
  • Coordinating high protein canola for analytical purposes, feeding trials, processing validation, protein concentrate development, etc.
  • Product validation - Coordinate downstream feeding trials with independent operators, universities and/or industry key influencers.
  • Participate in related PIC project consortia.
  • In collaboration with the Strategic Account Manager for Grains & Oils, coordinate market and customer development market building activities with key canola processors and the meal traders.
  • Become an internal Corteva resource on traditional and novel oilseed processing.
  • Provide input to canola composition optimization strategies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Quantifying end use market opportunities
  • Help build and prioritize marketing and marketing communications materials.
  • Sustainability - Help develop the strategy, sustainability value proposition and metrics for high protein canola seed.
  • Understand and collaborate with other global Corteva business units to support business cases for high protein, low fibre canola in other Corteva canola markets.
  • Aquaculture - Build market awareness and understanding of markets, rations and prioritize opportunities
  • Build a key influencer strategy - private and public.
  • Represent Corteva in activities related to canola composition strategies including canola meal market development.
  • Other duties as assigned in working on innovation projects in areas that may include value-added oils, plant protein business projects, renewable fuels, etc.
Location: Calgary preferred but may consider remoteQualificationsWhat You Need:
  • Complex account management (multi-level collaboration experience is important)
  • University degree or equivalent experience from feed industry, grain industry and/or in grain/oilseed processing.
  • 5-10 years\' experience in sales, marketing, or technical sales/services role.
  • Canola seed and/or protein industry experience would be a significant asset.
  • Project management skills. Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload.
  • Experience working with multinational companies would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written. Ability to present technical material in a clear, concise manner to both a scientific and non-scientific audience.
