Iris Construction is seeking a driven and results-oriented Development Manager with a solid background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate is a confident professional who can represent our company with integrity, build long-term relationships, and consistently bring in new business opportunities.
This role focuses on expanding our portfolio of Tenant Improvements (TIs), restaurant builds, office renovations, and institutional projects across Manitoba and Western Canada. You will lead business development efforts, establish connections with clients and partners, and help shape the company's growth strategy.
This position offers a base salary plus commissions on sales, as well as the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role within Iris Construction.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the construction sector, including commercial, retail, franchise, and institutional projects.
Leverage your existing client base to generate regular project opportunities.
Promote and sell Iris Construction's full range of services: general contracting, design-build, and project management.
Develop and execute strategic growth plans that align with company goals and market dynamics.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with landlords, realtors, developers, and franchise networks.
Anticipate market trends and creatively identify new opportunities ahead of competitors.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and client deliverables are met.
Represent Iris Construction at trade shows, franchise conventions, and other industry events.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or client management within the construction industry.
Existing client base and strong network of contacts in real estate, franchise, or development sectors.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a professional, confident presence.
Demonstrated ability to secure and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Solid understanding of construction processes, project delivery methods, and industry terminology.
Post-secondary education in business, construction management, architecture, or a related field.
Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and creatively.
