sUDPosition: Business Development Manager- Geochemistry - Quebec

Location: Province of Quebec.

Status: Full-time, Permanent

Reporting Manager: Director, Eastern Canada Operations

We are a full-service provider of analytical geochemistry services to the global mining industry. An integrated network of 70 laboratories around the world ensures consistent quality and dependable client service. Design, installation & operation of dedicated remote mine site labs. Prep facilities, analytical laboratories, core services & photography, hyperspectral mapping & interpretation.

Leader in process development, circuit optimization, mineralogical analysis, bankable metallurgical testing, and consulting services for mineral process flowsheet development and optimization. ALS offers mineral processing testing by both bench scale and pilot scale facilities, hydrometallurgical and mineralogical test services, and project management by expert metallurgists.

About the Position:

This exciting opportunity is geared toward an individual who wants to be responsible for developing new business streams for ALS by actively engaging new clients and growing ALS\' market share. You will also be responsible for assisting clients with obtaining information regarding ALS services and pricing, and ensuring clients receive efficient, accurate service and information. As this position is located in Quebec, command of both French and English language is essential.

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective clients to increase awareness of ALS services;
  • Capitalize on business opportunities in the market and generate new work;
  • Generate client quotes, and ensure we generate the right number of quotes monthly, including unsolicited quotes;
  • Responsible for client service outreach, calling, and visiting clients;
  • Attend and represent ALS Geochemistry at required trade shows, conferences, and Geological Society meetings;
  • Coordinate and facilitate client tours and ALS functions at trade shows
  • Act as the initial contact for new clients regarding their program questions, concerns, and complaints.
  • Assist with annual marketing quotation renewals, track client workflow;
  • Actively pursue mine site laboratory opportunities and create proposals;
  • Ensure proactive, positive, and responsive communications are always maintained with clients.
  • Contact clients with courtesy calls, when new work is received, and if there are delays in work completion.
  • Provide technical information regarding quality control complaints and other issues from clients.
  • Maintain client contact and client requirements database (GEMS, cpt\'s etc).
  • Communicate regularly with internal departments regarding client information and client instructions.
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of preparation procedures, analytical procedures, and quality systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Professional in every aspect and flexible in working independently and with a team.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent interpersonal and sales skills, with the ability to network with key individuals;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong MS office skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Geological or Chemical Sciences;
  • Have a strong customer service background;
  • Work experience in the mineral exploration or laboratory setting;
  • Valid Provincial Class 5 driver\'s license with a clean driving history (abstract required).
