About the Role



The Business Development Manager (BDM), Canada plays a critical role in driving the expansion and growth of Simplicity Car Care's national franchise network. This role is focused on identifying, pursuing, and securing new franchise opportunities across Canada, as well as building strong relationships with prospective business partners in the automotive and collision repair sector.

The BDM is responsible for managing the full sales cycle--from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and deal closure--while ensuring alignment with Simplicity's brand standards and growth objectives. This individual thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and brings a consultative approach to sales, helping independent shop owners and operators understand the value of joining the Simplicity Car Care network.

Key Responsibilities



Drive national franchise growth by identifying and converting qualified leads into new Simplicity Car Care franchise partners. Execute a structured sales process including prospecting, qualifying, presenting, and closing deals. Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through consistent outreach, networking, and relationship management. Conduct in-depth discovery meetings and deliver persuasive presentations tailored to the needs of each prospect. Develop and present franchise proposals, ensuring alignment with company goals and legal requirements. Represent Simplicity Car Care at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote brand awareness. Collaborate with internal departments--marketing, legal, and operations--to ensure a smooth franchise onboarding process. Track and report on all sales activity using Salesforce, providing accurate forecasting and performance data. Analyze market trends to identify high-potential territories and strategic opportunities for expansion. Maintain strong communication with leadership regarding sales progress, market developments, and competitive insights.

What You Bring



Experience & Expertise: 5-8 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably within the automotive, franchise, or service-based industries. Automotive experience is preferred but not required -- comprehensive industry training will be provided. Sales Acumen: Proven success managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure. Negotiation & Communication: Exceptional presentation and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence decision-makers. Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze market data, assess territory opportunities, and prioritize leads strategically. CRM Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms. Financial Understanding: Comfortable reviewing financial data, evaluating investment opportunities, and preparing franchise proposals. Independence & Initiative: Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and able to manage priorities autonomously. Flexibility & Travel: Willingness to travel nationally for meetings, site visits, and events. Results-Driven: Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and performance metrics.
