About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support our Director of Strategic Growth and manage the activities and performance of the Outreach and Partnership team to align with our company's long-term goals. This role requires a self starter with exceptional analytical, organization and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for history and heritage, and an understanding of the cultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the business development process from proposal preparation, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines Manage team members, actioning priorities, distributing work, setting deadlines, providing QA and feedback on proposals and marketing campaigns. Provide 1-1 guidance and mentorship to team members Work with relevant Directors and CEO to ensure proposal vision and Statements of Work are accurate and meets the needs of the client. Track the status of proposal submissions, respond to client queries and requested revisions and provide weekly updates to the Director As needed, support team members on major proposals and grants, provide QA and feedback on proposals. Manage the Identification of current and upcoming funding opportunities and advise team members on appropriate grants for various projects Support market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy Identify events that align with the company's strategic goals and departmental priorities. Develop an annual conference participation calendar and budget In collaboration with BD associates, prepare strategy documents for each conference and ensures leads are captured accurately, reported on, and followed up with from each conference. Support the Director to organize workshops, conferences, or other outreach events to promote the company, including attending external events to further develop the company's network Collaborate with Director and BD team to ensure goals and targets (activities) are on track Oversee the implementation of a new CRM tool and leverage it for go to market campaigns for each department. Provide administrative support (e.g., follow-ups, monitor client requests) to the Director

Skills and Qualifications

Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience with B2B sales and/or consulting Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable strategies. Excellent understanding of business dynamics, market trends, and competitive landscapes Knowledge of culture industry including museums, Indigenous rights issues, and Canadian heritage landscape an asset. Strong writing skills in English

Position Details

Hours: Full-time Compensation: Salary $70K-100K or dependent on experience, with paid vacation, paid sick leave, and health, dental & EFAP benefits Travel required: Occasionally Location: Calgary or Ottawa office with remote options. KH is open to remote applications within Canada.
