We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager with a proven ability to develop business opportunities, build meaningful relationships, and lead sourcing and sales initiatives across multiple sectors. The ideal candidate will thrive in a growth-oriented environment and be motivated by the challenge of pioneering new partnerships and revenue streams across organics recycling, industrial plastics, product destruction, distressed materials, and emerging opportunities in the circular economy. This is a hands-on leadership role with a mandate to drive expansion and innovation across all lines of our business.
What You'll Do:
Develop new partnerships with food producers, manufacturers, and industrial suppliers
Identify and source surplus/waste organics, distressed materials, and recyclable plastics
Build and lead a small sales and sourcing team, including strategy, reporting, and accountability frameworks
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements
Monitor industry regulations and trends to uncover new opportunities
Collaborate with marketing, operations and logistics teams to align supply with processing capacity
Represent the company at events, site visits, and stakeholder meetings
Continuously review performance and adjust strategies to improve outcomes
What You Bring:
5 - 10 years in business development, sourcing, or procurement within industries such as recycling, food manufacturing, waste management or supply chain logistics
Proven ability to negotiate deals and build long-term supplier relationships
Experience in building structured sales programs from the ground up -- including assembling sales teams, establishing reporting structures, designing strategic sales initiatives
Commercially strategic, hands-on, and entrepreneurial mindset
Knowledge of circular economy and sustainability trends (an asset)
Strong communication, leadership, and relationship management skills
