Job Description

Aplin has partnered with a leading manufacturer and distributor of vinyl and aluminum siding, windows, doors, and other exterior home improvement products to hire a Business Development Manager to support their growth strategy in Canada.

This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Canadian President, and working closely with Regional VP's. This strategic role will provide market intelligence to the sales teams across Canada regarding upcoming opportunities with Builders and Architects. You will implement strategies and forge relationships with key influencers to pro-actively identify opportunities that will allow the company to spec their product line in residential and commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with architects, product specifiers, engineers, designers, and commercial/residential builders to position the company's cladding and window products at the forefront of their work
• Develop product expertise to facilitate conversations, communications, and presentations that will support business development
• Use resources such as ConstructConnect, as well as your market knowledge, industry dynamics, and product trend expertise, to build sales strategies and targets
• Create and analyze data to develop meaningful reporting, for use by our sales team to track sales opportunities as they move through the pipeline
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and finance peers to develop complete strategies for growth
• Identify opportunities, make recommendations, and take action to add resources to support the business growth and maintain/strengthen relationships with our customers and partners across Canada

Qualifications:

• University Degree in Business Administration, or Construction Management, Engineering, or other related fields
• 5 years minimum of account management and business development experience in the construction / building materials industry
• Ability to work with blueprints, take-offs, and construction tenders
• Successful track record of influencing buyer decisions
• Strong understanding of procurement and proposal processes in the construction industry
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills with MS Office tools and data creation and analysis programs
• Behavioral dispositions that support success: leadership and decision-making skills, ability to interact effectively with contacts at all levels, internally and externally
• Ability to travel as needed
