The Logic is now accepting applications for a business development coordinator to join its growing business team.

We are an independent, made-in-Canada digital media company founded in 2018 with the belief that Canadians will pay for great journalism. Combining exclusive news, in-depth reporting, insightful analysis and smart curation, we confront the critical questions that shape this country\xe2\x80\x99s economic future. We are headquartered in Toronto, with bureaus in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal.

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an experienced individual to nurture the growth of The Logic\xe2\x80\x99s advertising, partnerships and corporate subscription revenue pipelines. This individual will help in the development and implementation of outbound sales strategies, assist with account management and ensure the success of various business initiatives such as campaign delivery, engagement reports, with a focus on top of the funnel lead generation. Ideally, the successful candidate is comfortable getting involved in many different types of client projects, and is excited to work in an environment where things move fast and change often. This role is instrumental in supporting The Logic\xe2\x80\x99s reach and readership, and forging strong relationships with our clients.

This is a full-time hybrid position reporting to the COO and receives work assignments from the senior sales team. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada, with the expectation that they will attend events and client meetings in Toronto and across Canada. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

Business development:

  • With the mentorship of the senior sales team, grow a pipeline of qualified corporate subscription and sponsorship through inbound and outbound efforts
  • Support the development and implementation of new outbound strategies that effectively communicate The Logic\'s value proposition
  • Gather data and perform analysis for advertising and event campaigns
  • Create business proposals and presentations using tools such as Google Slides, Canva, etc.
Client management:
  • Support the corporate subscription manager to enhance the subscriber experience and maintain a clean database
  • Coordinate the timely flow and production of all advertising copy, sponsorship materials and project deliverables
  • Support B2B and B2C subscriber success
  • Create nurture campaigns for post-sales cycles and client retention strategies
  • Support the production of monthly in-person and virtual events
Requirements: Who you are:
  • You have some client-facing experience in a comparable role in sales, media, PR, events, etc.
  • You have experience in outbound sales efforts, including prospecting, lead generation and qualification
  • You have experience with sales CRM software (HubSpot preferred) and project management tools (Trello and Asana preferred)
  • You have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re highly self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • You are comfortable representing the company at in-person events
  • You thrive at building relationships and don\xe2\x80\x99t shy away from challenging tasks
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re focused, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team
  • You take initiative and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • You have a passion for great journalism and the drive to be part of a growing startup
