Position Summary:


Reporting to the HOD, Manager PIC, the Business Automation Specialist is responsible for designing and building smart tools that make daily work faster and simpler.

The successful candidate will create in-house programs and dashboards using Python, SQL, or VBA--connecting data, automating reporting, and simplifying how information flows between teams. You'll work directly with managers and staff to understand pain points, then design digital solutions that bring efficiency and accuracy to every department.



Hours:

7.5 HRS Monday-Friday.



Key Responsibilities

:Application and Automation Development: + Design and develop in-house tools and applications using Python, SQL, VBA, or similar platforms.
+ Create automation scripts that integrate with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other office applications to reduce repetitive tasks.
+ Build dashboards and user interfaces that connect directly to the company's data warehouse.
+ Develop lightweight internal "shadow IT" solutions to address workflow needs when enterprise systems are limited.
+ Document source code, maintain version control, and continuously improve system performance.
Data Analysis and Process Optimization: + Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for automation or digital improvement.
+ Retrieve and process data from SQL databases, APIs, and spreadsheets to support operations and management reporting.
+ Collaborate with departments to understand business problems and translate them into digital tools or scripts.
+ Recommend and implement process enhancements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
System Support and Integration: + Support and maintain existing automation scripts, resolving technical issues as needed.
+ Integrate tools with databases, data warehouse servers, and visualization platforms.
+ Ensure data security, proper access control, and reliable performance of in-house applications.
+ Coordinate with IT to ensure developed systems align with company standards.
Project and Collaboration: + Work closely with other teams to identify process challenges.
+ Lead small-scale development projects from concept to deployment.
+ Provide simple training or documentation to help end-users adopt new tools effectively.
+ Continuously collect feedback to refine systems and enhance usability.



Required Competencies

:Bachelor's degree in computer science or business computing. 3-5 years of programming experience. Proficiency in Python (Pandas, openpyxl, SQLAlchemy) and SQL scripting. Experience with VBA, Power BI, or other automation tools for data handling and visualization. Understanding of APIs, data structures, and integration between applications. Ability to design applications that run independently or connect across Office 365 tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a focus on results. Capability to understand operational workflows and convert them into efficient systems. Effective communication skills to explain technical ideas to non-technical users. High sense of ownership and initiative to identify problems before they are assigned.
