WCLC is currently looking for a results driven Business Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Business Analysts in Winnipeg Manitoba, the Business Analyst is responsible for the effective gathering and communication of stakeholder requirements to facilitate the development of a successful product/project.
The successful candidate will work closely with project resources and stakeholders. You will elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers or end users. This includes interviewing stakeholders, gathering, and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions and business requirements needed. The Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help the business make good decisions
This is a hybrid role, which will work both in our Winnipeg office and remotely from home.
The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
#### Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Identifying and assessing business requirements
• Clearly defining scope of work to be completed
• Documenting detailed requirements for development team to work from
• Collaborate with Solutions Architect and development team to create solutions
• Review completed solutions to confirm requirements have been met
• Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and present these back to the business stakeholders
• Work with other Business Analysts to review and improve standards, methods, tools, and techniques
• Keep track of, and report on, timelines, statuses, and deliverables.
• Participates in Scrum meetings, including Sprint Planning and Retrospective meetings
• Planning, documentation, analysis, and business requirements management techniques
• Participates in the testing and re-testing of new or modified systems prior to final release and/or coordinates testing with departmental users.
• Works closely with cross-departmental staff to understand how systems are used to support business functions.
• Works with cross-departmental staff and management to analyze how existing systems may be improved to better support their business functions.
• Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
• Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
• Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
• Experience in leading business analysis efforts for digital transformation or ecommerce projects
• Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
• Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
• Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements- verbally or through written documentation - to project stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
• Facilitate the implementation of new processes through training sessions demos and the development of appropriate documentation as required
#### Qualification and Competencies
• Degree/Diploma in a related discipline (business administration, computer science, or information systems, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Must have CBAP/PMI-PBA or similar Business Analyst professional certification
• One to Three years related work experience
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall and Scrum
• Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
• Able to ensure IT's understanding of business requirements.
• Experience managing substantial, cross-departmental projects and working with outside developers, vendors and consultants.
• Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.
• Advanced facilitation and communication skills both orally and written as communication is internally and externally with clients.
