Job Description

Compugen is seeking a Business Analyst for a permanent role for a Vancouver based client.

All candidates must be Fully Vaccinated.

The Business Analyst - Technical provides a full working level of specialized expertise to lead all technical business analysis activities within infrastructure related projects. This role collaborates with business managers, technology teams and vendors to understand, analyze and document the business requirements and translate into functional requirements. This role actively involves in designing and communicating complex workflow analysis, drafting end-to-end documentation, Service Level Agreements and Standard Operating Procedures based on industry best practices. The role develops and implements the infrastructure related projects and supports in monitoring and tracking the project to ensure overall project success.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with client's business areas, application, technology teams and external partners/vendors to support key strategies and organizational priorities
  • Lead all technical business analysis activities to understand, analyze and document the business requirements and translate into functional requirements, technical specifications and process workflows
  • Lead the development and implementation of system/technical and functional requirements in assigned infrastructure related projects and tasks
  • Lead complex workflow analysis design sessions and document outputs according to industry standards and best practices
  • Develop, define, and build technology based business cases, briefing notes, decision sheets that will enable business and technology change
  • Create technical Service Level Agreements, Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Create use cases, test plans work with business areas to create user acceptance test scripts
  • Create functional specifications, conversions, upgrades, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows
  • Create end-to-end documentation of end-to-end current state and future state technical architectures and associated workflows
  • Contribute to procurement documents (RFX), and contracts
  • Contribute to Privacy and Security reviews and assessments.
  • Leverage business and technical knowledge to make recommendations, influence business partners and management
  • Assist in project resource planning, allocation and management to achieve project goals
  • Assist with the project life cycle planning, monitoring, control documents
  • Assist with the definition of each technical project's success criteria
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years' of Business Analysis in enterprise-scale projects with an expert understanding of the underlying technical architecture
  • Minimum of five (5) years of BC / Canadian healthcare project experience as a Business Analyst
  • Excellent communication skills and command of the English language
  • Experience providing training/orientation to adults on new technology and concepts
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Ability to work within design teams and mentor IT colleagues;
  • Strong analytical, research, writing and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of the team, to manage and prioritize, effectively, multiple competing projects/initiatives;
  • Is a team player with a strong customer service orientation and diplomacy while dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Occupational Certification
  • Appropriate certifications and other professional development/continuing education relevant to the role preferred (e.g. CBAP)
  • ITIL Foundation Version 3.0 Certification
  • CompTIA A+ Certification is preferred
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification is preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) is preferred
Knowledge
  • Specific knowledge of IIBA - BABOK guide and standards
  • Solid working knowledge of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Solid working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards, methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of current WAN technologies including, MPLS, DMVPN, Satellite, Microwave, and Wireless
  • Knowledge of Network Security Design methodology
  • Knowledge of mobile device, infrastructure, database, SharePoint, and web solutions
