Business Analyst
Primary Location: Toronto, Ontario
Hybrid position
V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Business Analyst for our premier client in Toronto, Ontario.
Education and Experience
Must have:

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficient in conducting Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions and brainstorming workshops for large web-based applications and data analytics solutions.
  • Skilled in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, use cases, and user stories.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a large project setting.
  • Writes user stories using standard formats with acceptance criteria.
  • UX/UI experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Functional Skills (35%)
  • Ability to break down complex problems into manageable components.
  • Demonstrates structured thinking and logical analysis.
  • Understands how to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Defines clear acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with product owners, solution architects and developers to refine backlog items.
  • Uses data and stakeholder input to validate assumptions and decisions.
  • Technical Skills (30%)
  • Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS Teams Azure DevOps.
  • Experience creating business process diagrams, activity diagrams, and workflow models using tools like BPMN, Visio, or Power Designer.
Communication Skills (30%)
  • Facilitates workshops, meetings, and walkthroughs effectively.
  • Translates technical concepts into business language and vice versa.
  • Demonstrates ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Adapts to changing priorities and project scopes.
  • Delivers high-quality outputs on time.
  • Builds trust and maintains strong communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Manages conflicting priorities and expectations diplomatically.
Public Sector Experience (5%)
  • Demonstrated experience working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), especially in public sector environments.
  • Familiar with accessibility (e.g., AODA), privacy, and UX design.
  • Experience navigating complex organizational structures and approval chains.
