Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting financial reporting initiatives and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with the flexibility to work remotely and occasional in-office meetings.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with finance and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for centralized reporting projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for key stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to international financial reporting standards.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for process improvement and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Utilize tools such as Atlassian Jira and CRM systems to manage project tasks and track progress effectively.
  • Support the development and implementation of reporting systems by liaising with technical teams, including developers and architects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and organizational financial reporting standards.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to review project updates, address concerns, and align on deliverables.
  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum processes to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Develop business requirement documents (BRDs) and other necessary documentation to support project objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for enhancing monthly and annual financial reporting processes.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the finance sector.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting standards, including international and statutory requirements.
  • Strong expertise in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Atlassian Jira.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and business process functions.
  • Experience with gap analysis and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and claim administration processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
