We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Legal Team!


What You Will Do





Reporting to the Manager - Investigative Services you are responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business processes and user needs to determine system requirements. As Business Analyst, you will coordinate and conduct special projects pertaining to the section's systems, methods, procedures and organization from initial studies through to documentation and implementation. This may involve working independently or as part of an internal implementation team, as well as with outside consultants and suppliers. You are a data-driven problem solver who will employ advanced statistical knowledge and tools to uncover hidden patterns in large sets of data and answer complex business questions. Additionally, you will review processes throughout the section and determine methods for streamlining work while maintaining or enhancing the information provided to other departments/customers.

KEY OBJECTIVES:
Assist in the development and maintenance of sectional and/or departmental information systems Assist in the system administration of all sectional applications Conduct feasibility studies related to sectional systems Coordinate the implementation of recommendations: Perform data analytics



What Qualifications Do You Bring?




Your educational background including completion of a university degree or college diploma in a related discipline (i.e. Computer Information or Business Administration), or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent is integral and will contribute to the success in this role. Extensive experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) and using SQL languages/queries for: building connections, extracting data, and manipulating and integrating data from a variety of data warehouses/databases. Demonstrated experience in data analytics, and developing automated dynamic dashboards using SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, Python, R, Power BI, Excel, and MS Access. Sound knowledge of database management tools such as Microsoft SQL Management Studio and Oracle SQL Developer. Sound knowledge of business administration and practices, and applicable government legislation. Comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis and database design concepts and practices as applied to large and small systems. Knowledge of system and end user concepts and practices. Good understanding of project management concepts and practices. Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures. Knowledge of current office automation technology, PC hardware/software and relevant application. Ability to plan, conduct and co-ordinate projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information and database systems. Good presentation skills, tact and diplomacy. Project management skills. Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of specific report development software (e.g. Crystal Reports).
