The Business Analyst is responsible for developing business requirements, analysis, testing and delivery of new applications, enhancements or upgrades. This role also provides business and technical support related to system applications, procedures, workflows and documentation. Works with limited direction and guidance.

How you will create impact:

  • Conduct/facilitate user sessions to solicit and document business requirements (regulatory, functional and non-functional) from the Underwriting and pricing perspective and business process issues. Identify solutions and/or formulate alternative solutions to satisfy requirements. Escalate issues to facilitate resolution.
  • Liaise with various business areas and/or external vendors to facilitate planning and implementation of new applications/enhancements/upgrades to ensure delivery of effective solutions and processes.
  • Develop business process/workflow models. Contribute to the development of data models and guidelines.
  • Develop test plans, define detailed test cases, develop/locate test data, conduct user acceptance testing, and sign off. Provide work estimates in an effort to meet implementation.
  • Develop and/or update user documentation, training manuals, system specifications and other internal/external communications.
  • Provide application and process training for business users for new and/or existing systems and approaches.
  • Provide application support for the installation, testing, data conversion, implementation, and ongoing systems maintenance.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing systems, procedures, forms and process workflows.

To join our team:
  • Minimum two years related business/systems experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a Business/Actuarial/Underwriting Analyst role (including practical testing, requirement gathering and facilitation/presentation experience).
  • Strong Business/systems knowledge and comprehension of applications, procedures, and workflows.
