ABOUT THE JOB What are you applying to? The Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) department is responsible for back-office systems development globally, which supports front-office trading activity in North America, Europe, and Asia. Our group provides regulatory reporting tools, calculation engines, and other applications necessary for successful post-trade reporting. Our team (FRM/CCR), Counterpart and Credit Risk) is designing, deploying, and supporting local applications for Credit Risk chain. The current role is based in Montreal and the resource will join a team of approximatively 5 members, all of them working closely with the extended AMER CCR team based in New York for a total of 10 collaborators. Team in Montreal is working on several applications and in particular, proposed role is on refactoring the current restitution solution. Current solution is using Informatica to extract data and Oracle tool (OBIEE) to build reports to end users and is implemented for years now. The 2-step project is first to analyze current solution and propose different solutions depending on different use cases and second is to implement the identified solutions. What will be your day-to-day? In this context, you will oversee the following missions:
  • You will provide functional support to risk analysts and front officers on counterparty risk chain
  • You will gather restitution requirements from business partners and study potential solutions to address them
  • You will collaborate closely with people in India currently in charge of supporting current tool
  • You will collaborate with people in Montreal in charge of proposing Business Intelligence solutions internal to SG (to know what is currently already proposed internally in SG)
  • You will propose target solutions based upon business needs (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, any other restitution tool fitting business need the most)


Profile required


What you bring to our team:
  • You have at least one experience in a financial institution as Business Analyst
  • You have at least one experience in data science
  • You have at least one experience on Power BI
  • You can read / update Python scripts
  • You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, commitments, and projects.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be considered an asset
  • You are comfortable acting as the point of contact for business clients and to understand/document the needs of the company and their priorities
  • You have a strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to the team
The Functional and Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge in Investment Banking
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to read and produce queries / stored procedures
  • Experience with PowerBI
  • Experience with Python / scripting development
The bonus skills:
  • Knowledge of US or international financial regulations
  • Experience with concepts and literature related to Credit and Counterparty Risk
