Further information is available at www.bgis.com SUMMARY The Project Manager - Business Analysis is responsible for the creation and preparation of financial and business models and reports which are used to identify and develop value creation opportunities in the delivery of projects to assist decision makers in making well-informed business decisions. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Model Creation

  • Responsible for the collation of data and inputs to create a Business Case submission to the client for all projects >$250,000 which outlines the strategic benefits of the investment relative to their long-term office plan. Liaise with the Project Manager, the Consultant, the Property Manager, Heritage Conservation Manager, Capital Planning Manager, Energy Managers and Planning & Costing team. Up to 3 iterations of the business case will be required for Project Approval and Expenditure Authority.
  • Creates financial models to determine viability of options in project delivery using proven techniques (Financial forecasting, NPV, IRR, Monte Carlo analysis, etc.) to help in the selection of options by decision-makers
  • Creates business analysis models based on reliable market information and previous experience to identify opportunities and solutions for the projects
  • Understanding of regulatory and financial requirements for the model’s creation
  • Capable of articulating the different scope assumptions within the business model
Data Collection and Analysis
  • Generates and compiles data from multiple data sources (internal and external) using various business intelligence tools and information management systems
  • Compiles, maintains, and analyzes large volume of real estate portfolio data to support various reporting, benchmarking, and analytical requirements.
Reporting
  • Prepares various reports including but not limited to performance reports and scorecard reports to assist with business communication and decision making
  • Prepares the documentation that supports the output from the model and analysis to facilitate the decision-making process. This documentation may include but is not limited to benchmarking analysis, list of assumptions, exclusions and constraints, resource analysis
  • Develops and maintains reporting and analytics dashboards using data analytics software (i.e., Power BI) to visualize strategic data
  • Develop and distribute key process metrics and information to internal customers.
  • Develop/deliver presentation documents
System Support
  • Interface with relevant stakeholders to understand business process related issues and to facilitate innovative solutions to traditional problems. Liaises with information technology system administrators (Computer Maintenance Management System, Annual Building Inspection, and Oracle Financials) to resolve field issues, as required
Training
  • Train team members in the correct operation of business tools, processes, and procedures.

EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Education: University graduation or professional certification 5-10 years relevant work experience with a university degree or professional certification (e.g., P. Eng., CMA, CGA, BOMA, BOMI, PMI, CIQS, AEEECQ, AACE or equivalent courses).
  • Job-related Experience: More than five (5) years up to ten (10) years
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience with a university degree or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng., CMA, CGA, BOMA, BOMI, PMI, CIQS, AEEECQ, AACE or equivalent courses).
  • Ability to handle a large volume of information and accurate management of large datasets along.
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • Well informed/experience in Project Management process with Corporate Real Estate and Construction related projects – some experience with actual project delivery an asset
  • Strong data and financial analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Computer proficiency in relational databases, reporting tools, MS Office including MS Access and MS Excel, with ability to learn new information management systems quickly such as Power BI.
  • Very strong MS-Excel skills i.e., Macros, pivot tables, lookup tables, etc.
  • Power BI reporting and development
