At Investment Planning Counsel we've designed every aspect of the Business Analyst role with you in mind.

What you will do:



Assist business leaders to define business problems and/or opportunity and perform benefit analysis for specific projects and initiatives. Manage requirements gathering through facilitating JAD sessions, documenting functional and non-functional requirements, usability/user experience requirements, data requirements, in partnership with business partners and 3rd party resources. Perform requirements/analysis risk assessment and provide recommendations for development and implementation approach. Collaborate with developers and systems analysts to ensure a smooth transition of requirements to solution. Apply best practice tools and techniques, including analysis, stakeholder interviews, data gathering, current system documentation, business modeling methods, business process reengineering, rules, and logic, to solve complex issues development of implementation plans, development of requirements, Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions and key analytical troubleshooting. Work with the EDO team and Project Manager to determine and manage project tasks, activities, documentation, time information per internal standards. Support business and technology teams by leading business and systems analysis to support design, development, and delivery. Collaborate with internal and 3rd party integrators to ensure quality standards are met. Manage all aspects of test management from creating test strategy, supporting unit testing, executing quality assurance testing, and supporting user and production acceptance testing. Support the development of team members from a professional and technical perspective.

What you will bring:



5+ years progressive experience in a similar role in the Financial Services industry. Expert planning, analysis, and problem-solving ability required. Must be able to manage and monitor activities across multiple projects within timeframes. An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as well as general knowledge of, and experience applying, project management methodology. Knowledge of investment software Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, computer science, economics, or related discipline. Knowledge of BABOK is required and IIBA or IFTA certification is a strong asset. Knowledge of financial services, financial markets and particularly the mutual fund industry. Strong business and systems analysis skills test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with multiple environments and architectures. Experience in data gathering and facilitation techniques (i.e. meetings and JAD sessions). Experience with requirements management, use case and modeling tools. Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, to convey or present factual and conceptual information on issues which require detailed explanation and interpretation. Well-developed influencing skills sufficient to resolve distinct problems and/or negotiate appropriate solutions. Detail oriented with excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous. Proven ability to manage multiple projects to tight timelines with ability to prioritize. Must have advanced knowledge of MS Visio, and the entire Microsoft Office suite.

The base salary for this position is between

$56,000.00

- $83,900.00

annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
