Job Description

An Global Insurance firm based out of Toronto is looking for a experienced Senior Technical BA to work on multi-year roadmap initiatives. This is a 6 months contract to start with high possibility of extension. The Sr BA needs to manage initiatives this year to roll out new products and services while supporting System transformation for next few years in parallel. Qualifications :

• A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher in a technical discipline, business analysis or equivalent education and work experience.
• 7+ Experience as a Business Analyst in Insurance or Financial services
• Experience on Java based insurance applications is preferred
• Previous Insurance Industry experience is an asset.
• Working Experience with cloud delivery models, including Microsoft Azure is an asset
• Understanding of Programming ( Java) and database technology SQL/Oracle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical content to nontechnical customers

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of business and user needs and document business requirements for the design and development of an application system.
• Define systems scope, objectives and solutions that fulfil specific business objectives and service level agreements (SLAs) by working with business representatives to elicit requirements and by applying their knowledge of business processes, industry practices and relevant technology.
• Design solutions that support business functions, processes and applications. Applies knowledge of the business area and functions in development and evaluation of alternatives for IT solutions, while balancing important concerns such as adherence to established practices, and alignment with enterprise strategy.
• Act as an advocate for promoting change and developing solutions for improvements to applications processes and technology.
• Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign along business process improvement specialist and Business Solutions team. Participate and supports the creation of a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements.
• Provide input for business readiness plans, including communication, and training.
• Communicate business needs of the project to the technical team. Based on business requirements, produce technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.
• Provide current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document.
• Triage and document incoming incidents to ensure proper incident priority are assessed.
