Business Analyst, Clinical Informatics

BC Children\xe2\x80\x99s and Women\xe2\x80\x99s Hospital & Health Centre

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Informatics, the Business Analyst, Clinical Informatics is an integral team member responsible for providing information, supporting, and reporting on operational sustainment and related initiatives and activities identified as priorities for achieving the site\xe2\x80\x99s successful use of new technology in moving towards implementation of an electronic health record.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Develop and produce ad hoc and standard metrics providing accurate and high quality analysis of key indicators, including outcomes, quality & safety, data standards, in ensuring continuous quality improvement. Develop annual and regular reports and briefing documents for various stakeholder groups.
  • Provide project management support, planning, implementation and project delivery. Support the development of processes to analyze the functionality and effectiveness of project and program delivery and recommending improvements. Lead and participate in special projects, as required.
  • Oversee the review and approval of information sharing agreements; as well as support the communication and education of staff further to provincial information and privacy requirements and legislation.
  • Provide business administrative support by coordinating, documenting, and participating in committee meetings and working groups. Monitor, facilitate and report on related action logs.
  • Keep up-to-date regarding new initiatives, developments and trends in clinical informatics through literature review, contact with peers at other organizations, professional associations and attendance at seminars, workshop and education programs. Communicate information and make recommendations to the Director.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
What you bring

Qualifications
  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Health Information Sciences or related discipline plus a minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in health care or information management ideally supplemented by courses in computer technology, clinical informatics, or business analysis.
You will also have
  • Superior analytical skills including the ability to comprehend, analyze and resolve complex issues and present information in concise meaningful ways.
  • Highly developed business writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software at an advanced level. Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and initiative.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time (until March 1st 2024)
Salary Range: $61,718 - $88,720/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
