Overview of Role/Job Purpose:
Senior Business Analyst will work with clients to analyze their business needs and translate those into functional and design specifications. This is a customer-facing role within VertexOne and requires the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, initiatives, and customer relationships.
The position will support the software development and customization for the client. Key responsibilities would include requirements analysis, coordinating with the team to create the system design, conducting workshops, testing, and training. Liaison with project managers and developers communicating business and technical gaps and creating solutions. Update and maintain system documentation.

Job Duties:

  • Analyze and model requirements to create a complete picture of workflow and technical requirements.
  • Accurately translate client\xe2\x80\x99s business needs into functional and design specifications.
  • Perform the required research to identify gaps between the business requirements and the current functionality.
  • Develop and review requirements, business processes, and recommendations related to proposed solution as well as functional and system design specifications.
  • Liaise between clients/users and technology architects/developers to ensure precision and clarity in the documentation of business requirements and technology solutions.
  • Prepare/Review System User Interface Functional Specifications.
  • Prepare Business and Use Case documentation.
  • Lead/Participate in High Level Design sessions.
  • Lead Requirements and Use Case walkthroughs.
  • Develop test cases and perform testing on changes and enhancements.
  • Perform System, Functional and Integration Testing to ensure product quality remains at the highest level, including dealing with workload peaks without compromising quality/standards.
  • Investigate production issues and assist with troubleshooting, re-creating, and resolving those.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the CIS application and the other integrated systems.
  • Facilitate group meetings and workshops as required.
  • Support all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Work with third party vendors during requirements, design and testing phases.
  • Assist in the training initiatives and system documentation.
  • Support product strategy initiatives and continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate and communicate issues to VertexOne Management or Clients as needed
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment to meet the goals of the department and of the company.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years working experience as a Business Analyst in the Software Development industry.
  • 5+ years working experience creating detailed Business and Technical documents such as Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Functional/Technical Specifications, Interfaces, Web User Interface (UI) and Workflows, Use Cases, User Guides, Defect Analysis Reports etc.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct complex requirements analysis.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL (Structured query language).
  • Excellent understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and the concepts and practices required to implement effective information technology systems.
  • Planning and design skills (including ability to create graphical mock-ups and layouts) to facilitate writing of functional specifications and other documentation.
  • Solid background with Process mapping, Task analysis (use case, user stories).
  • Demonstrated experience with business process design.
  • Strong product management skills, including the ability to interpret client\xe2\x80\x99s needs and translate them into system requirements and solutions.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and to manage constant change through innovation, adaptability, agility, and flexibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and highly experienced at dealing with clients/users at all levels, individually and in groups.
  • Proficient in common desktop applications (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, etc.).
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, team goals, manage multiple projects while focusing on priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task at any one time while maintaining high quality standards and productivity.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Highly Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Conflict resolution skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Customer Information Systems (CIS) Billing systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Web APIs and Batch Processes is preferred.
