Reporting to the Engineering and Corporate Systems Manager, the Business Analyst is responsible for the management and support of the systems, tools, and processes for the Engineering business area. This business function resides primarily in the North American Manufacturing business units though other business units may be supported by this team if they are involved in Engineering activities.

We are looking for a confident, capable individual to work directly with Engineering business team members and with IT teammates acting as liaison between both groups. This will require the capability to understand and document business activities, work with business stakeholders to clarify, or define new business requirements, coordinate IT activities, and ensure training and documentation activities are completed.

Like the rest of Enerflex, Engineering relies upon SAP to support many of its business activities and the ability to understand and support this solution will be part of the role. Enerflex also utilizes a suite of in-house applications that will enable our engineering processes and embed our industry knowledge and expertise. This work will require experience as a business analyst to support the software development team for Engineers. These solutions may integrate to SAP and experience working with cross function systems especially from an application development perspective would be very beneficial.

Success in this role will depend upon strong business knowledge, especially in an Engineer to Order manufacturing organization, and the ability effectively manage a wide variety of tasks and technical tools.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineering to understand their processes and objectives.
• Facilitate meetings of various settings business and IT; one on one or in groups.
• Define problem areas and gather requirements for software improvements or development.
• Perform analytical thinking and problem solving to resolve issues and propose solutions for in house and third-party Engineering focused applications.
• Collaborate with the larger IT team to translate business requirements to functional design for development team.
• Determine requirements-based priority and work estimates.
• Proactively communicate potentially challenging recommendations.
• Support of SharePoint relative to its use for the Engineering team.
• Support of Business Process Mapping initiatives related to the engineering phases of the manufacturing business units.
• Occasional travel to other business units in North America for implementation of systems or continuous improvement enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in an IT-related discipline
• Minimum 3 years in a software development environment
• Minimum 5 years referenceable experience performing business analysis
• Excellent communication (written, oral, and listening)
• Working in an Agile software development environment is a strong asset
• Knowledge of standard business process mapping and tools is a strong asset
• Knowledge of Manufacturing and/or Engineering industry would be beneficial
• Experience as a business analyst within a manufacturing environment considered an asset
• Understanding of systems integration in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an asset
• SAP or other ERP experience within the Manufacturing industry is an asset
• The ability to influence outcomes through building relationships and contributing business value
• Ability to manage and assist with continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation
