About the Role
The Business Analyst, Associate Director is a squad-facing role within Technology & Data Delivery Enablement, translating business needs into actionable requirements that drive measurable outcomes for an Agile squad. This role engages directly with business stakeholders and end users to understand their needs, working in close partnership with Product Owners to translate insights into clear, testable requirements. The Business Analyst partners with Delivery Owners, Technical Owners, and squad members to ensure technology solutions align with business strategies while supporting predictable, high-quality delivery.
This position operates within a culture of accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement. As a senior practitioner, this role makes significant contributions to the Agile Delivery Center of Excellence and actively participates in Communities of Practice, sharing best practices, developing standards and playbooks, and mentoring peers. May provide work direction to Business Analysts within the tribe.

Engage directly with business stakeholders and end users to elicit, validate, and refine requirements
Align technology solutions with business strategies and translate needs into clear, testable requirements
Partner with Product Owners to ensure requirements support business value and stakeholder needs
Drive business value realization through clear requirements and outcome focus
Requirements Management and Delivery Partnership
Partner with Delivery Owners and technical teams on Agile processes including story creation, backlog refinement, and sprint planning
Ensure requirements are delivery-ready, sequenced appropriately, and support continuous flow
Surface delivery risks early; drive mitigations with clear ownership
Ensure requirements quality; hold self and others accountable for clear, testable requirements
Drive continuous improvement in requirements practices
Education, Collaboration, and AI Enablement
Educate squad members on business goals and software value; emphasize outcomes
Drive implementation of AI-enabled practices to accelerate requirements gathering and validation
Lead AI enablement initiatives; identify opportunities where AI can accelerate requirements work
Learn and apply AI-enabled tools for requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis
Mentor Business Analysts on responsible AI use and establish standards for AI-assisted practices
Champion AI literacy within requirements management
Technical Insight and Documentation
Provide estimation insights and identify risks related to requirements clarity and technical feasibility
Perform data profiling to validate requirements and document data flows
Partner with Engineering and Data teams on non-functional requirements
Ensure requirements documentation is comprehensive, current, and enables effective delivery
Operating Model and Enablement
Facilitate complex requirements sessions and maintain documentation in tools (Jira, Confluence)
Ensure requirements artifacts accurately reflect business needs and are actionable
Provide executive-ready updates on requirements status, risks, and dependencies
Mentoring and Leadership
Mentor and lead business analysts, enhancing their skills and career development
May provide work direction to Business Analysts within the tribe
Model accountability culture; demonstrate ownership of requirements outcomes
Contribute to training programs and capability-building initiatives
Center of Excellence Contribution
Participate in Agile Delivery Center of Excellence and Communities of Practice
Share innovations, develop standards and playbooks, and elevate business analysis capability
Lead requirements management best practice development and adoption
What You Need to Have
Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience
6-8 years in business analysis, with proven track record in Agile environments
Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Agile (PMI-ACP, CSM)
Demonstrated experience translating complex business needs into technical requirements
Proven track record delivering requirements for initiatives with measurable outcomes
Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
Experience with data analysis and requirements documentation tools
What Would Make You Stand Out
Multiple certifications (CBAP + Agile certifications)
Experience with AI-enabled requirements tools or practices
Background establishing requirements standards or leading Communities of Practice
SQL or data analysis expertise
Experience in financial services or regulated industries
