The intention of this process is to establish a pool of partially and fully qualified candidates that may be used to staff indeterminate or term positions at NSERC and SSHRC. This position falls within a directorate that provides common services to two funding agencies: the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

What you will do





As a Business Analyst , your responsibilities will include:



The successful candidate will be following best practices in business analysis and product management, in order to facilitate the transformation of the Councils' business processes from the initiative intake to delivery of solution. They will define, document, and validate the business requirements and processes and conduct options analysis for use in the development, user acceptance, and implementation of technology and business solutions. They will acts as the facilitator between business partners and solution providers.




What you need to succeed

Education




Successful completion of a post-secondary educational program in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Business Administration, or in a field of study related to the position, OR an acceptable combination of education, training, or experience. Certificate or Certification in Business Analysis (e.g. Associate's or Advanced Certificate in BA, Certified Business Analysis Professional CBAP). -

Certificate or Certification in Product Management (e.g. Certified Product Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner). -

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

Experience




Experience in consulting with internal or external stakeholders relating to business or operational issues; Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and clients. Experience in documenting functional and non-functional requirements. Experience in Agile (Scrum, Lean, Kanban) software delivery Experience in working with User-Centered Design (UCD) -

Experience with the administration of grants and contributions -

Knowledge




Knowledge of business analysis techniques and best practices. Knowledge of the Government of Canada Policy Framework for Information Management and Information Technology including the GC Digital Standards; -

Knowledge of the research community and of the university setting in Canada -

Knowledge of the policies, administrative regulations governing the structure, management and operation of the grants/fellowships programs administered by the granting Councils -
