As a Business Analyst, you will provide essential services to ensure the successful achievement of Water Services' core goals and business objectives related to implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program. You will play a major role in the analysis of current business processes, system design, data integration, deployment planning, risk assessment, testing and reporting. Primary duties include:

Engage with business interested parties to understand and document their needs and expectations for the AMI deployment. Facilitate communication between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment. Facilitate/develop the requirements: + Determine and document high level use cases and user stories.
+ Analyze, negotiate, and document user functional requirements, including user interfaces.
+ Identify and develop specifications of data, integrations, and functional initiatives.
+ Review and approve technical specifications form project team.
+ Work with project teams to understand non-functional requirements and constraints.
+ Keep current a repository of use cases or requirements tied to the process design.
Assist in managing the AMI technology deployment project. Develop and manage risk identification and mitigation strategies related to AMI deployment. Analyze the business impact of AMI deployment and track business driver realization. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions. Develop and document business process models to illustrate current and future states. Propose and design technical and process solutions that meet business needs and objectives. Work with IT and other departments to implement solutions and ensure they align with business goals. Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to clients and executives. Create detailed documentation of business requirements, processes, and solutions. Participate in testing and validating new systems and processes to meet business requirements. Verify training materials to ensure alignment to system and process functionality. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to ongoing optimization efforts.





Qualifications

A completed 2 year diploma in Information Systems, Business Management or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in areas such as business analysis, system development, or software quality assurance; OR A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in areas such as business analysis, system development, or software quality assurance. Completion of an industry-recognized Business Analysis certificate, a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification, a Business Analyst designation, and/or knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Agile is desirable. Experience in enterprise applications, such as AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), MDMS (Meter Data Management System), RNI (Regional Network Interface); or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job would be an asset. Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to build consensus and develop credibility with internal and external partners; along with excellent interpersonal, problem solving, communication and presentation skills are essential.

Workstyle:

This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $44.76 - 59.84 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
