Job Title: Business Analyst - Climate Change Risk
Job Location: Toronto, Canada
:
We are seeking a full-time Business Analyst - Climate Change Risk position.What will you do?

  • Develop detailed understanding of current state including data feeds required for Enterprise Risk Engines and Reporting
  • Understand changes required in current state to support the future strategic platform for Climate Risk Data
  • Understand new Data sources for a range of (PCAF) Asset Classes - Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, Sovereign Debt, Project Finance, Listed Equity and Corporate Bonds, Business Loans and unlisted Equities
  • Map and provide rules for the transformation of data from multiple sources into standardized data feeds required for the Climate Risk engines
  • Efficiently perform business analysis tasks including documentation of requirements, data analysis and support UAT testing
Must Have
  • Experience working on Risk Data projects (Agile methodologies), sourcing, standardization, and aggregation of risk in one of the functional risk areas such as Counterparty/Credit Risk
  • Understanding of financial Instruments including several types of Fixed Income and Equity Instruments and their valuation; Exposure to Banking Loan Book and other products
  • Documentation skills - ability to succinctly articulate requirements, summarize data analysis and present to business users and development team
  • Use of Python, Anaconda, Pandas, Jupyter and support of Developers working with a technology stack including Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and other big data technologies
  • Strong data analysis skills are required including analyzing large data sets in using SQL queries and other modelling tools
Nice to Have
  • Good understanding of Climate Risk Initiatives, Environmental, Social and Governance investment policies & framework for financial institutions
  • Professional risk/finance certifications (e.g. FRM, PRM, CFA)
