Job Description

Bus Monitors support the safe and orderly movement of students during school bus arrival and departure times. Working closely with bus drivers, school staff, and Transportation Services, Bus Monitors ensure that students board and disembark safely, follow behaviour expectations, and that bus loops operate efficiently and according to established procedures. This role is essential to maintaining a positive and secure environment for students travelling to and from school.

Preference may be given to an applicant who possesses the following qualifications:

Supervise students during boarding and disembarking to promote safety and positive behaviour. Lift/move light equipment and/or luggage Direct and coordinate bus loop operations, including signalling departures and managing pedestrian and parent traffic, in line with WRPS bussing protocols. Enforce safety rules and school/transportation policies in a fair and consistent manner. Assist in student evacuation drills, emergency procedures and incident response as required Complete and participate in assigned professional development.

Employment is dependent on satisfactory completion of criminal records/vulnerable sector check A current First Aid and CPR certification would be an asset.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $20.42 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 10 per week

Work Location: In person
