BUS DRIVER

(Temporary)

ONE POSITION FOR THE JOURNEY HOCKEY ACADEMY.


Monday and Wednesday @ 2hrs each day/4 hours per week from Sept-March



PU @ 10:00 from Seaparc drop off @ Journey


Then PU @ Journey back to Seaparc, then back to Journey ending at 12:30


TRIPS ARE AS NEEDED AND HOURS ARE NOT GUARANTEED - TRIPS MAY BE CANCELLED WITHOUT NOTICE.


EMPLOYEES APPLYING ON THIS POSITION MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE FULL SHIFT WITHOUT INCURRING OVERTIME.



RATE OF PAY AS PER THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.



QUALFICATIONS AS PER THE JOB DESCRIPTION.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Secondary school graduation.

Holder of a valid Class II B. C. Driver's License, with air brake endorsement.

Must be willing to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate.

Experience with transporting students an asset.

Minimum of one month experience driving a Class 1 or 2 vehicle with air. (i.e. 80 hours)

Up to date knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.

Ability and patience to deal with children in a kind and diplomatic

JOB

GOAL: To

ensure that school children arrive at school in a safe and efficient manner.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

:


Drives the bus in a safe manner and adheres to route schedules as determined by the Transportation Supervisor.

Deals with passengers in a firm, yet diplomatic, manner.

Checks the bus as required and reports any necessary repairs to the Transportation Supervisor.

Cleans the bus as required.

Drives regular bus routes as required.

Conforms with the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.

May have the opportunity, from time to time, to drive extra bus runs.

Performs duties of other categories - and is paid accordingly during non bus driving time

DUTIES TO COMMENCE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND WILL CONCLUDE UPON NOTIFICATION BY THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT.
