Casual / Relief Bus Driver

, you'll help keep essential transportation running by stepping in when the regular driver is away -- covering

sick days, holidays, and time off

.



This position also includes

reliable weekly work every Tuesday and Thursday

, driving the

Health Connections bus

that helps residents get to important medical appointments. If you enjoy community-focused work, this role offers stability, purpose, and flexibility.

What You'll Do




Safely transport passengers on the Health Connections route every Tuesday & Thursday Provide additional relief coverage as needed (sick days, holidays, LOAs) Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with provincial legislation Operate two-way radio communication and handle fares accurately Maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel/wash as required Create a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for all passengers Report any operational concerns, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly

What We're Looking For




Candidates willing to work on-call and relief schedules. Ideal for: Self-employed/freelance workers and Retirees who want casual work. Valid Class 4 Driver's License (minimum) Clean Driver's Abstract Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Drug & Alcohol testing Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public Physically able to perform all job duties

Bonus Points If You Have




Previous shuttle, taxi, or transit driving experience Class 1 or 2Q license is an asset

Casual / Relief Position Relief shifts as required Wage: $25.64 per hour
