Job Description

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Lifestyle Manager, the incumbent is responsible for safely transporting residents to activities or appointments as assigned, via the Company car or bus, and assisting with activities involving resident transportation, maintenance of the Company vehicle and other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:



Follow daily resident request transportation schedule, planning a route to ensure shortest distance to destination for gas conservation. Maintain a vehicle safety check log in the vehicle at all times. Maintain vehicle is excellent working condition, ensuring all scheduled preventative maintenance is performed; ensure vehicle is clean and presentable at all times. Adhere to all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, legislation and Company policies and procedures. ? Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the Company dress code and/or wearing the Company uniform. Attends staff meetings and mandatory training, as required.

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:



Delivery of parcels to resident suites Clearing of snow from the front entrance and salting as required Upon request, clear snow from resident vehicles and, ensure that each vehicle is safe and ready to drive. Clear criminal records check. Up to date immunizations.

Continuously follow the principles of "good customer service" and ensure that these values are demonstrated in day to day practices. Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with team members, residents, families, visitors and external resources. Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands. Observe all posted speed limited and rules of the road.

Education & Skills:



High School Graduate (or equivalent combination of education and experience). ? Previous related driving experience. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Class 4 license with clear Driver's Abstract. Active CPR and First Aid.

Working Environment, Special Skills and Physical Job Requirements:



Frequently lift up to 50 pounds (including storage of wheelchairs or walkers). Physically assist residents in and out of vehicle. Mental and visual concentration necessary for safe driving. Exposure to variable weather. Bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for at least 3 hours per day. Walk and stand on a variety of surfaces for at least 3 hours per day. Climb stairs, use elevators. Weekends and evenings as required.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $22.61 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 29.75 per week
