Job Description

Position Summary


The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and timely execution of the transportation service. Children and youth are transported to and from the facility for after school and evening programs throughout the fall to spring months. When the position is not transporting, they may be required to assist with other Club operational tasks (e.g. custodial tasks, delivery/pick-up of items, etc.).

Major Duties and Responsibilities



Transportation

Transports participants to and from the facility in a safe and secure manner, adhering to Ministry of Transportation regulations, laws, agency policies & procedures and best practices. Checks children into and out of the building. Assists the Recreation and Community Supervisor in the development and coordination of the transportation schedule.
Vehicle Maintenance

Conducts and records daily Ministry of Transportation (MTO) inspections on vehicle(s). Conducts day-to-day upkeep requirements (obtaining fuel, cleaning, etc.) of vehicle(s). Coordinates with Director of Programs & Services semi and annual MTO inspections and vehicle maintenance requirements. Coordinates with the Director of Programs & Services to ensure all validation stickers and requirements are up-to-date and obtained (i.e. license plate renewal, MTO inspections).
Health and Safety

Ensures the vehicles are maintained in a state that will reflect the high standards of the agency. Reports immediately to supervisor any concerns regarding the status and/or safe operations of the vehicle(s). Administers First Aid/CPR as necessary.

Qualifications



Education:

High School Diploma or equivalency certificate.
Related Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience transporting children/youth
Additional Skills:

Class F Driver's License Clean Driver's Abstract Current First Aid/CPR (required)
Vulnerable sector check and police check Knowledge of general vehicle maintenance practices

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
