Department Overview

FPS provides system support for approximately 30 Enterprise Finance Systems. This support encompasses 3 core processes:

System Maintenance - maintain operational data & functionality settings
Incident Management - resolve issues when applications are not working as expected
Change Management - coordinate changes to system or base settings

Job Requirements

• Solid understanding of the Finance function
• Strong technical background with hands on experience working with Finance applications, specifically General Ledgers Reporting/Business Intelligence tools
• General understanding of data flow, data integrity and audit controls
• Ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced and evolving environment
• Proficient in identifying risks and mitigation strategies
• Proficient in MS-Office applications (Excel, Word, Access)

The following skills or knowledge sets would be advantageous:

• Experience in a Production Support environment, specifically supporting / implementing Finance applications
• Good understanding of TDBG businesses preferred
• VBA/SAS/SQL experience (as required)
• Post-secondary degree in business, management information systems/computer sciences, and/or finance/accounting
• Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or related work experience would be an asset

Reporting to the Manager, Applications Management (FPS-Reporting), the Business Application Analyst joins the team responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of TD\'s various Enterprise Finance and Management Reporting Systems including but not limited to Enterprise Management Reporting System (EMRS), Financial Reporting System (FRS-FMS/FRS-PSGL), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Certent Disclosure Management (CDM) etc.
Specifically, this position will be responsible for providing first level system maintenance, incident and change support for the applications under their area of responsibility. The successful candidate will play a key role in the maintenance of a best-in-class production support model.
Due to the nature of our user community, flexible support hours are often necessary at fiscal month / quarter and year ends, and periodic on-call support is required.

This position requires an action-oriented individual with solid knowledge of finance applications and data flows, demonstrated analytical/problem solving capabilities, good relationship management skills and the ability to deal with change in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Key accountabilities for this position include:

Responsibility for ensuring application availability, data integrity and a positive user experience for supported systems:
o Maintain/monitor job scheduling, reports, interfaces, queries, etc.
o Identify, investigate, resolve complex support issues, providing updates as per the severity guidelines, and taking an active role in driving resolution for issues, including those outside normal working hours
o Adhere to audit controls
o Ensure quality of service meets Service Level Agreements

Liaise with Business/Technology stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, define, communicate and validate requirements for changes to finance applications
Coordinate system/process changes with technology and business partners
Provide subject matter expert knowledge of finance applications to relevant business areas and project teams as needed; understand relevant business processes/needs/opportunities and recommend solutions that enable the business to achieve its goals
Recommend and implement process improvements to increase productivity
Contribute to the success of the of the Finance Production Support department through personal efforts to enhance own knowledge and skills; assist others in achieving common goals and objectives, and maintaining a respectful, positive work environment
Ensure procedure documentation is accurate and complete
