The combined skills of our engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a structural designer for small and medium-sized projects, with the intent to develop skills towards a future discipline lead role for larger projectsCoordinate work with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical and electricalSelect appropriate methods and techniques to obtain design solutionsPerform detailed structural design calculationsDirect CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to clientAttend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, post-construction review, and structural condition assessmentsPrepare written reports based on the structural analysis of existing buildings and other structuresWork within assigned project budgets and schedulesQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperience and interest in buildings projects are requiredDesign in concrete, steel, wood and masonry; and performing building condition assessments an assetFamiliarity with Revit Structure and FEA software(s) is an assetAn interest in developing design skills on small structural design assignments and working within a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting teamStrong written and oral communicationFamiliarity with Revit and CAD to complete drawing development and editsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited universityMinimum 2 years of experience in designThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each others talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
