Key Responsibilities
Manage & coordinate all phases of the Building System project delivery cycle from Pre-Construction & Planning, Construction, Testing & Commissioning
Plan the mechanical and electrical components of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and the Project Manager
Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for the mechanical and electrical components of the job, and assists the Project Manager to ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings
The Building Systems Manager will monitor in conjunction with the Superintendent, a project's material and labour costs for mechanical and electrical components and assure accurate quality reporting is being conducted
Assist the Project Manager by leading project meetings, determining the status of the job in terms of scheduling and costing and solve complex technical issues
Develop the temporary power, heating and water systems
Coordinate with project design and BIM teams as required for M&E system interfaces with architectural and structural elements
Review mechanical and electrical changes to ensure they are complete and up to standards and review subcontractor prices on these changes.
Lead an implement M&E quality control program to ensure subcontractor quality plan is being executed.
Collaborate with the project team on planning and coordination for all on-site mechanical and electrical activities while keeping compliance of specifications, requirements and codes top of mind, while mitigating risk.
Put your proactive problem-solving skills to work to coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference issues
Utilize your passion for organization through the maintenance of schedule requirements and priorities, mechanical and electrical RFI's, shop drawings, contracts and project completion documents
Share your mechanical and electrical expertise and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members
Be the go-to person for the organization and facilitation of mechanical and electrical coordination and interference meetings
Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates
Take pride in compiling and completing company-wide project reports

Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process
Education & Experience
You have a construction related degree/diploma
5-7 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
Leads and delegates to a large team while coordinating construction between multiple trades to achieve building success
Required Skills
Knowledge of OH&S legislation, policies and procedures
Knowledge of Ontario Building Code
Third level education in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering. (e.g. building systems) beneficial
Trade background an advantage but not essential.
Experience in scheduling and planning of sites and teams
Experience with specifications and contract documents (i.e. subcontract scope of works)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Financial Acumen, strong understanding of cost management
Knowledge of design principles and experience in project delivery.
