Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Building Science Technologist to join our Building Science & Sustainability team in our Saskatoon Office.



Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Building Science Technologist will be involved in the fast-paced world of Baseline Property Condition Assessments conducting site visits and inspections along with deficiency reporting and costing analysis.



A Day in the Life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:




Conduct Baseline Property Condition Assessments: Review and complete non-invasive assessments of existing buildings and structures (roof assemblies, exterior cladding assemblies, balcony assemblies, fenestrations and parking garage structures) to determine remedial work options in accordance with the ASTM standards and best construction practices. Prepare Technical Reports: Your keen eye for detail will be essential as you prepare comprehensive written technical reports of your findings. Adhere to Standards: You'll ensure that all work is completed in accordance with Pinchin's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable industry standards. What You Bring to the Pinchin Team:




Educational Background: A diploma in Architectural/Civil Technology or related experience. Construction Knowledge: Sound knowledge of construction practices in North America. Growth Mindset: A strong willingness to learn and grow, making this role an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates with relevant coursework or a demonstrated passion for building science and sustainability. Experience: 1-3 years of experience related to building assessments is an asset. Baseline Property Condition Assessment Familiarity: Experience conducting assessments in accordance with ASTM Standard E 2018-24 is valuable. Technical Writing: Proven experience in technical writing. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Hands-On Capability: Ability to safely transport and carry a folding ladder and properly use hand tools and PPE, as required. Travel Readiness: A valid driver's license, insurance, and personal vehicle are required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated). Availability: Willingness to work outside our core business hours and travel throughout the province of Saskatchewan.
