Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for a Building Operator to join our operations team. This position will play a critical role overseeing and maintaining our three facilities in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of personal initiative, with the ability to identify and resolve problems independently.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The building operator will:
  • inspect buildings, equipment, and systems daily to identify, log, and report issues
  • perform or manage all building maintenance for our facilities, furnishings, and equipment
  • perform general maintenance and housekeeping such as painting, carpentry, sweeping, garbage removal
  • schedule and monitor the activities of cleaning and maintenance staff
  • maintain the grounds including landscaping, overseeing lawn and plant care, and snow removal
  • ensure standards of occupational health and safety act are met
  • create and execute preventative maintenance schedule
  • manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and coordinate repairs/service with third-party contractors
  • obtain quotes, tender contracts, and negotiate with third-party vendors
  • complete and maintain necessary logs, inventory, and other records
  • monitor and assist with contracted work
  • plan and monitor the budget for facilities maintenance

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • post-secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • BES I (BOMI) or Building Operations and Maintenance (ORFA) (an asset)
  • experience supervising and tasking 1-3 employees
  • the ability to source, vet, and negotiate with vendors
  • experience creating budgets, reports, schedules, tenders, and SOPs
  • the ability to preform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs
  • a working knowledge of operation and maintenance of hand tools and equipment
  • fire safety training, CPR/first aid training
  • the ability to perform some lifting and physical labour
  • a willingness to work in various conditions: heat, cold, rain, snow
  • a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
